Zimbabwe, Christon Bank

Chido here, greetings from 136 Christon Bank. The last two days my home is alive with young energy. My 7 girls and I are excited for this adventure with a team of 11 boys, 10 girls and 4 teachers from Belgium. Together we are working to make my home a more conducive learning place for women and girls I work with.

We are busy improving the mushrooms, poultry and vegetable production units that make up The Future of Hope Centre. I cannot believe the amount of work we got done in just a day and a half. The garden already looks cleaner than yesterday morning and a site for the new chicken coup is now clear and ready for construction to begin. These youngsters work so hard and fast. Today I got to show off my bush trimming skills. Tomorrow, my girls will join the team and this place is on its way to being a little paradise.

I can't wait to see how everything will have changed by next Friday. In the meantime, I keep learning how to make more soup for my hard workers!
