A bit tired from the first travel day, but very excited for today’s adventure we start the day with a ride to the pyramids with mister Zac and pick up our guide Abdul halfway. Any normal day in Cairo, this ride could very well take 2 hours or more, but fortunately we haven’t used all our luck on the 5 star hotel because today is vacation in Cairo which means a quick 30 min ride through the city with probably the most billboards on the planet. Arriving at the pyramids, we channeled our inner tourist and took some great pictures with stones in the background (quite impressive stones though). Elisabeth and Julian took the playing tourist part a bit too far and fell for the sales tricks of a local, but luckily we had a completely waterproof strategy: don’t carry any cash! After a detour to watch some papyrus drawings (with a 6 second demonstration) and smell some oils, it was time to go back to the airport and fly to Kinshasa! With some stress we arrived in Congo but everything went smoother than expected, so now it’s time for some rest.
