Day 23
We left our accomodation at about 8:30 in the morning to leave for the airport. We arrived in Lombok a little after noon, after a good one hour flight. We were picked up by someone to bring us to our homestay. On the way we made a quick stop at Dharma Setya, hand woven and handicrafts. Here, men and women weave scarfs, sarongs, blankets and many more things out of the cotton they harvest. I got to try it myself too, as in their culture a woman cannot marry before they have done this. It wasn't too hard, but I couldn't imagine sitting there and doing that all day. Afterwards, we drove through the monkey forest and eventually reached Bangsal. We were staying in a home stay of a Dutch man from The Hague, so all of us had a lot to talk about. In the afternoon we went for a stroll on the beach and returned before the high tide had taken over the entire beach. We had a huge egg roll for dinner and then went to bed in a room full of tjitjaks (lizards).
