Day 7
It was absolutely great to have spent the first week in New York City, and thus I felt a little sad to leave for Washington D.C.. Packing my backpack was harder than I imagined it would be, because even though I did not buy anything in New York, it felt like I had so much more stuff that needed to be packed. After a good twenty minutes of stuffing it all in the backpack, I was ready to get on my way to Washington. Like every other day, we first took the bus, then the lightrail, then the train and then the metro, to finally arrive at Pennsylvania Station. From here on out, we took the three and a half hour trainride to Washington D.C.. The American landscape was beautiful as we passed Philadelphia, Baltimore, and a whole lot of other cities. However, I of course didn't see it all, because those who know me, know that I am physically incapable of staying awake in moving transportation. Our arrival in Washington D.C. was amazing, as we arrived at the stunning Union Station. We took the bus from there to our AirBnb, after which we only had to walk shortly uphill. After quickly settling in, doing the groceries, preparing dinner, and planning the upcoming few days, it was time to call it a day.
