Day 72
This day we left Iguazu in the morning to go to Paraguay. Our bus would leave at eleven, yet an hour later we were still waiting at the bus terminal. Eventually someone came up with an alternative route, which we decided to take as well. So, we got on a bus to Brazil and when we arrived an hour later we were dropped off at the bus terminal somewhere in Brazil. From here on out we walked about 200 meters towards the border, where we (finally) got a stamp in our passports from Brazil. After getting through the passport control, we had to walk on a bridge with our backpacks for about twenty minutes until we reached the border of Paraguay. We again got stamps and then walked around in the huge mall of Ciudad del Este trying to get money from an ATM. When we got some money, we took a taxi to the nearest bus terminal, which was about half an hour away. Here we had to wait for an hour until the bus would leave for Encarnación. One of the agencies had told us that the bus ride would take about four hours, which is why we were a little annoyed when we arrived in Encarnación seven hours later. Luckily for us, the hostel was only two blocks down from the bus station. We were completely exhausted of this travel day, even though we did not do very much.
