Mount Agung

Indonesië, Mount Agung

Day 20

My first full day in Bali. After breakfast our driver came to pick us up and brought us to the Campuhan Ridge walk. We walked alongside huge palmtrees, and loads of rice fields. Near the end we went a little off the route and ended up at the bamboo bar where we had young coconut to drink. After the walk we went to Ubud Palace, a big temple in the middle of the city. We walked towards the Saraswati Temple, a temple surrounded by big water lilies. A very beautiful sighting. Next stop was the Goa Gajah Elephant Temple, which were a collection of temples, a cave, and a small waterfall. The Elephant cave was very nicely made, though we almost choked on the intense smell of incense inside. We continued towards the Holy Water temple, which again existed of multiple temples and were all surrounded by stunning rice fields. Even though it was raining very hard, the views did not get less. At the very end of the temple was a big carved rock wall which resembled Petra, Jordan in a lot of ways. After this full day of sightseeing we were dropped off at our accomodation. It not only had a pool, but also an amazing view looking over the big vulcano Mount Agung. After swimming and scaring away the huge frog in our bathroom it was time to sleep.
