Day 44
Today we decided to sleep in a little as we were quite exhausted. We then had to pack our backpacks and switch hostels. We walked around the city and also desperately looked for a post office. So far, I have sent at least two postcards from every destination, one to my best friend and one to my family. However, since La Paz was the only city in entire Bolivia with a post office and that one was closed because of the protests, I was walking around with quite some postcards. Sadly, due to it being Dia de las Muertos and also the political situation in Chile, this one was closed as well. We had lunch and afterwards, we were picked up at the hostel and went on our way to Laguna Cejar. Our first stop was Ojos del Salar, which was a beautiful lake with a view over the volcanos. The next stop was the actual Laguna Cejar, where we had some time to float in the lagoon. It was not as spectacular as floating in the Dead Sea, but nevertheless really nice. Our last stop was at Laguna Tebinquiche, where the water was the perfect color of blue. Here, we watched the sun go under and walked around a large part of the lagoon. We then headed back to the hostel.
