New York

Verenigde Staten, New York

Day 3

I still need to get used to the difference in time zone, and thus at 7am I was ready to leave the appartment. We first went to Liberty State Park, Jersey CIty, where we had a great view over the New York skyline. We then took the subway to New York, where we arrived inside the Oculus at the World Trade Center. Once outside, we went to the 9/11 memorial site, which was one of the most impressive experiences of my life, real goosebumps. Right behind the memorial site was a big outside foodmarket, where we treated ourselves on a handmade taco for lunch.
After lunch, we went to the top of the One World Observatory (102nd level), to get a 360 degrees view over both New York City and Jersey City. A real concrete jungle indeed. This was by far one of the most spectacular things I have ever seen and definitely worth the visit if you ever find yourself in New York. After looking down on the most beautiful views, we made our way to the Chrysler Building. The building was beautiful to look at from afar, but from up close the top was hardly recognizable because of the building's height. Our last stop was the United Nations building at UN plaza. Sadly we could not enter the building due to the climate summit that is currently going on.
