Day 78
After a beautiful almost three months of traveling through North and South America I decided to go home for the holidays. The actual plan was to move up towards Colombia and Ecuador, but as things are getting violent and dangerous again in those countries we had to cancel it.
My first flight was an eleven hour flight from Asunción to Madrid. It was an okay flight, even though I could not sleep as I was sitting in between two people that took up a lot of space. In Madrid, I had a stopover of four hours in which I again watched Christmas movies. We got on the plane on time at 15:00, yet there was a delay of one and a half hours due to the strikes in France. Once landed, I made my way to the baggage belt as fast as I could so that I could make up for some of the lost time. When I came to the arrivals hall, my grandparents and brother were waiting for me. We drove home through the rain and the cold which was very different from the temperature and weather of the day before. Once home, I quickly changed clothes and left to surprise my best firend with the best Christmas present of all time: me!
Too bad about the weather and the temperature, but it was amazing to be reunited. Such an amazing night with McDonald's and kipcorns and hugs.
