Day 10
This morning started with a Skype call home, where I talked to a big part of my family while they were busy working in the house. As today was also our last full day in Washington D.C., we decided to visit the last things that were on our 'to see' list. First off, we took the metro to the Smithsonian area where we spent the morning walking around in the Washington National Holocaust Museum. It was by far one of the most touching museums that I have ever visited, and I think most visitors would share that opinion. After spending our entire morning and the beginning of the afternoon here, we made our way to the Washington National Cathedral, on the other side of the district. With the outside looks of the Notre Dame, this was a beautiful and huge cathedral. Inside, we got to see the beautiful, large stained glass and we witnessed the 4pm prayer, just before closing time. On the way back to our place, we decided to make another stop at the Scottish Rite Freemasonry, House of the Temple. Sadly, due to it being a Sunday, the temple was closed. However, the looks from outside were amazing as well. Back at our AirBnb, we made homemade fries of the potatoes we got at the store and then it was time to pack my back for the flight to Seattle tomorrow.
