Wanaka

Nieuw-Zeeland, Wanaka

Day 12

Right after breakfast, we left Tekapo and hit the road. The first stop of the day was at the possibly bluest lake I have ever seen in my life. Lake Pukaki was breathtakingly beautiful and surrounded by mountains, which made for the best views. We continued our way and after a while reached Mount Cook National Park. Here we did three different hikes. The first hike was a nice bush walk through the forest of Mt Cook. We then hiked through the Hooker Valley, which had amazing views over all the snowy mountains. The last hike we did had the spectacular view over the blue lakes and the Tasman Glacier. At about five in the evening we arrived in Wanaka. After quickly settling in and dropping off our luggage, we walked to #ThatWanakaTree (apparently it’s famous, look it up). After seeing -and touching- the Wanaka Tree we went to the supermarket and prepared dinner.
