Day 45

This was our last day in San Pedro de Atacama, and as we hadn’t seen many of the city’s sights yet, we decided to join the walking tour. However, South America style, nobody showed up to give the tour. So, we decided to visit the church ourselves, and walked around the city to see the other sights. We went to the bus station to get tickets for the next day and eventually headed back to the hostel. Before we could go out again, we had to pack our backpacks, as we were leaving the next day in the early morning. We had a late lunch in the city enter and then went to go sandboarding. A van took us to Valle de Marte and we stopped at a huge sand dune. We first got information on how to use the board in the sand and we had some time to practice. We then walked up the dune with our boards and went down by board. It was very different than using the board on snow, but it wasn't too hard and a lot of fun! After a few tries I actually became quite good at it. We had a lot of fun before heading back to the city. On our way back walking from the agency to the hostel, there was a small group of people protesting by making music and dancing. Once arrived in the hostel, we quickly went to bed, as we had an early morning ahead of us.
