We flew from Kuala Lumpur to Manila but arrived way to late for our flight to Puerto Princesa. Gladfully the flight had a 1 hour delay and therefore we did make it on the flight 😊 When we arrived in the Philippines we started with, yes, RAIN🙄
We used the wifi on the airport and booked 2 nights in the Deep Forest Inn hotel. It was a hotel with alot of decoration outside like in Disney World, but we loved it. Their service was really good and we had a very positive impression of the Philippines. Everyone was so friendly and they speak really good English.
We wanted to do a island hopping tour but the weather wasn't really helping so we decided to move on to Port Barton as soon as possible. Port Barton is small and it's not possible to withdraw money from the bank there. So we filled up our wallets and took off to Port Barton by minivan.

We arrived late in the afternoon and had to walk quite a distance to our accomodation. The next 2 nights Nicole and me had to sleep seperate, in a 8 bed dorm. We booked a home stay because everything else was booked out. The owner was a 35 year old Philippine lady. She was very friendly and we drank a beer with her while watching sunset.
We had dinner in a restaurant where they serve very fresh vegetarian food. We choosed to share a salad and a pizza. The size of it was crazy, I never seen a big pizza like that before. That together with the taste was fenomenal🤗
The next day we went for a 45 min walk to another beach with a lot of coconut trees. A guy stopped us and we had to pay 75 Philippine Peso (€1,50) to enter. We also got a fresh coconut with it. He even climbed in the high coconut tree to get it out there for us😁
The beach was completely empty and the weather was getting better. We played Frisbee and on the way back we booked a Island tour for the next day.

We woke up early and at 8:00 we had breakfast at a local restaurant. Nicole ate a Spanish omelet and I went for the "Phillipine breakfast" which was garlic rice with chicken, 2 fried egg's and toast. It was really delicious and we only paid 4 euro together.
At 9:00 the boat left and we were with 6 other people. We visited some lonely islands and went snorkeling. The snorkeling was nice. Clear water and beautiful corals. I just love the underwater scenery. At the end we were lucky to see a big turtle.
After our boatman and co brought back the other people to Port Barton, it was time to go to our lonely island. We thought the boatman would choose the destination, but we could decide which island we wanted. We just had to point our finger to one 😁. After arriving we watched sunset and the guys (Mike & Nico) prepared dinner for us, Chicken Adobo. This is a traditional Philippino dish which is really delicious. We drank some cola rum and played a card game "pesten". The guys build up our tent, "Phillipino size" they said. Without any blankets or matrass. Back to basic...we got some life jackets from the boat and slept on them. Ofcourse we didn't sleep that good, but the experience was very nice and we saw a beautiful sky with stars.
The next morning we got back at 8:00 and we went for a big breakfast which included banana Pancake! After that we chilled at the beach. The weather is great now and later the day we walked to a waterfall outside of Port Barton. After drinking a beer we walked back and it was time to check in to our cottage at the beach 😁 it has sea view and costed us little over €30 together. We first ate some Pancit Kanton in the restaurant there and thankfully we finally found some OK WiFi there. The connection us just so bad there and electricity only runs from 18:00 untill 0:00. Normally this is not a problem at all but we needed to book our flight back to Manila the 1th of February.
After settling into our new cottage we watched sunset and went out for dinner. We ate at the same place as our first day and the pizza was amazing/huge again. After dinner we layed on the beach to watch the stars and played a card game while drinking some rum. Life is good.... 😊
We are now on our way to El Nido, which should really be the paradise of the Philippines.. We can't wait 😍
