Friday 22 October I came to Kuta in Lombok. After climbing Mount Rinjani I just chilled the whole day on the beach and went to bed early. In the evening I aranged with Charlotte and Sanne to go fishing with a local guy! At a tourist information stand there was this guy who said his uncle "Jen" is a fisherman and we could go fish with him. So tomorrow we are going to fish with Ome Jan 😂

Saturday 23 October
8.00 Fishing time! After a great breakfast (banana pancakes😍) and Lombok coffee we went for a 20 min scooter ride to the local fisher (Uncle Jen😜). He is 32 years old and a has his own boat. He is one on the 3 guys in the village who actually has a fishing rod. The most fishermen fish with nets. We were going to use fishing rods and fake lures by trolling and casting. This is the same way of fishing I used to do in Holland, I was so excited!!! After trolling for awhile I caught a 2kg blue tuna. I also caught a small red snapper. That was the only catch in 3 hours, but since we started late I didn't expect to much either.
In the end we trolled back to the harbour and 300m before finish the fishing rod was going CRAZY. We had a big fish uncle Jen said!! This fish was so string that it took alot of fishing line in no time from the reel. It went so quickly, with so much power, that the kine snapped after a while... SHIT!!!😲 Uncle Jen said that this fish must have been 30kg. I was shaking, damn I wanted that fish.
After coming back to Uncle Jen's home, he and his wife prepared the fish for us, which was really really tastefull. Straight out of the sea and freshly grilled👌
In my mind I still thought about the big fish. Fishing wit uncle Jen was so nice, that I wanted to do it again. So he said fine, we do that, but early! So tomorrow 5.30 it's on 😎

After coming home I wanted to get a massage because my legs still feeled sore from walking the mountain. I visited one but it was expensive. 150.000, while I had for 60.000 before in another village. So I went to the next one. I ended up paying 100.000. A big mistake.. The girl was very demotivated and had no feeling for massage at all. Oh well 😝
After the massage I had a phone call with my girlfriend, which was really nice 😙

In the evening I did yoga together with Charlotte on a very beautiful place. It was on a hill with ocean view. The yoga was very intense, it really got into my limits😲
After the yoga I had dinner with charlotte and Sanne. We had to pay 14 euro in total😂😀😀 After dinner I had a phone call with my buddy Lukas and my mom😚 I went to bed early because the next morning I was going to fish.

Sunday 24 October
At 04.30 I woke up. Once outside my room I saw the security guy. He told me someone was making breakfast for me. Huh! It's 4.30 in the morning. Yes no problem he said, wow! Once again the people are great here. Before I knew it, a lady served me 2 lovely banana pancakes with Lombok coffee.
At 5.45 we started fishing. Today we didn't have much luck. Only 1 tuna 🐟 Uncle Jen prepared the fish for me so I could take it with me. After fishing I was exhausted and went back to bed for 3 hours.

In the afternoon I went to the beach 30 min from Kuta and all of the sudden I saw Job at the entrance, what a coincidence! We chilled a bit on the beach and in the evening I did some jogging. It was starting to rain heavy, with thunderstorms ☈🌨
After that we went to the restaurant next to the hostel. I gave fish that I catched to them, and they prepared it for us. I didn't expect to much from it because it was a very cheap restaurant. After awhile they served the food and it was lovely. They made it with garlic and nice sauce. I also ordered Gado Gado with noodles. Gado Gado is a mix of cooked vegetables (and chicken) with peanut sauce. I have a nut allergie, but I can eat this sauce, very strange 😂 .... Later in the night we went out, but there was not much going on. There was a band playing some cover music, which is not really my thing. I went to bed at 01.00. Tomorrow I will go back to Bali: Ubud 🙏
