Sunday 9 october:
Today i left the hostel in Kuta and went to Padangbai by shuttle bus. From there i took the boat to Gili Air. It took 1.5 hours but I really got a sun burn 😅
Once I arrived in Gili Air, there was this really really relaxing atmosphere. It is very different in comparison with Kuta. I had to walk 1km (to the other side of the island) to get to the hostel. It's a beautiful hostel, made out of bamboo. I slept in my own little bamboo hut here😄
Monday 10 october:
I started the day by jogging around the island. It was only 5km. After that I went for a nice lunch with Eric. They have great baguettes here! After that we went snorkeling on the west side of the island. That was not good at all. Very bad visibility and dead coral.
Back in the hostel i talked with Milan (dutch guy) about freediving. You try to dive as deep as possible without air supply. He was doing a course for it and wanted to practise with me. I tried some breathing techniques and tried to hold my breath for as long as possible. I got to 3:45 min, not bad!!😁 I might want to do the course as well, later.
In the evening we went out for dinner with the group and I went to bed early, tomorrow I'm gonna do Yoga!
Tuesday:
Started the day with together with Lonneke and Svenja to do Yoga. The yoga teacher was very relaxed and inspiring. I really noticed I need to do something for my body to get more mobility. After the session I was very happy that I did it and I want to keep doing it during travelling.
In the afternoon I went to Gili Trawangan with Eric, Lonneke, Svenja and Charlotte. Once we arrived, there was a really nice relaxing vibe.
Wednesday:
Today I did a fun dive at sunset point. The diving was good and i saw some very nice fishes. I really like diving and decided to do my afvanced open water course straight away 😁
The days after were very relaxing. The island offers everything. You can chill if you want, but there is also enough to do if you want to party. We found a very nice club/bar were they played deep house / techno. We had some awesome nights there.
Also the food in Gili Trawangan is great. Every evening there is a local food market where you can get some very nice food for a small price. (Ca €2,50 per meal).
In the afternoon I often watched the beautifull sunset on the west side of the island. Just drinking a beer and talk with the people. I finally feel relaxed and comfortable now😁 during sunsets I made some very nice time lapses with my gopro. I'm so glad I bought it!!!
On Saturday I did 3 dives. The last one was a night dive. That means it's completely dark. It was very exciting, but I like day dives more because you can see alot more. After this dive I finished my advanced open water and I'm allowed to dive to 30m now wohoo!!!🎉🎉👌
Sunday:
The last night was very relaxing. We were chilling on the beach and just talked all night long. Everyone was pretty tired so we didn't dance or anything. The day after I said goodbye to Eric. His holidays are over and he's going back to Germany now. We had an awesome time and im looking forward to see him again after travelling.
Today I'm going to continue travelling to Lombok with Charlotte. We want to see some more of the nature of Indonesia. I really want to climb mount Rinjani. It's a vulcano, which erupted 3 weeks ago. After that it was closed... so I hope it is open again when i want to do it.
To be continued....! 🙌
