Yesterday I arrived in Pakse with the best transport option possible: privat car 😀 After arriving we booked a room on a hotel and I slept on one room with Perry and Pieter. We went to a Indian restaurant were I ate chicken tikka masala😍 it's so delicious! Unfortunately after that I was so full that I wanted to take a powernap, which ended in staying in bed and skyping with my girlfriend..
In the morning I got up early and went for a jog. I also wanted to go to the local market to get some fruits. I was looking for Jackfruit again but couldn't find it anywhere. I went back to the hotel and while eating my fruits, a local lady came in who sells fruits. What the.... she had JACKFRUIT in her basket 😲 What a coincidence.
I was ready at around 10:30 to go somewhere with a scooter, but we were with a group and ended up leaving at 13:00. ARGH! I was a bit annoyed.. traveling in a group has its advantages and disadvantages... Also, we ended up going to the Tad Fane waterfall and another one. We went there by TukTuk, 40km 😅 The first waterfall was the Tad Fane where 2 rivers come together and drop down 120 meters. We could only watch it from a far distance unfortunately. After that we went to a coffee and tea farm, where we saw how they did the drying proces. After that we went to the last waterfall This one was awesome and together with Ben I swam in the lagoon under it. This was definitely worth going and these moments are nice to share when you are with other people. We were driving back while watching one of the best sunsets so far in Laos👌
When we came back I went for a oil massage with Perry, Janny and Ingeborg. Everyone had a great massage, except for me. The lady didn't put feeling in massaging and I couldnt relax because she was pushing to pointy with her thumbs on random moments...
After the disappointing massage we had dinner again in the Indian restaurant "Jasmin". After eating a chicken curry with rice, spinach, and a cheese naan, I was hungry for a desert. They had custard on the menu, which is something like pudding I heard. I already wanted it yesterday but they didn't have it. So I ordered it again, but they didn't have it today either, SHIT😜 The owner said they sold it in town and he wanted to bring me haha. So I got on the back of his scooter and we drove through town to find custard 😂 sadly no one sold it anymore, but it was a funny adventure.
We found out the same restaurant is also in Don Det (4000 islands), so I definitely want to eat there. Indian food is lovely!
After dinner we drank some vodka and played a card game (shithead) in front of the hotel. Later on we went to a club, were only local people where. It was monday evening and the club was pretty full and played electronic music. The locals don't dance alot. We were catching a lot of attention since we were HUGE in comparison with the locals. I could find Erik and Pieter in 1 second in the club😂 Alot of people wanted to make pictures with us and we had a great time. We danced the night away and had some hilarious moments..
We only stayed 2 nights in Pakse, but probably I will come back here.
The next stop is 4000 islands, the most southern part of Laos🏝
