The after movie:
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1115284068578810&id=100002916817344 The last 4 days i did the Thakhek Loop with some guys I met in Vang Vieng. The loop is around 450km and starts and stops in Thakhek. Normally you drive a big circle (loop) but we decided to go back on 3/4th on the router, because the last part is boring.
Everyone but me rented a scooter. I wanted to drive a bigger bike but they didn't have any. So I choose a 150cc Kawasaki Monster, which was pretty fun to drive. Especially offroad.
We were driving through beautiful scenery with mountains, rice fields, view points etc.
I filmed a lot with my GoPro and will make a short video compilation out of it.
The first day we started late, around 13:00. We visited a cave which wasn't to special. We were a little bit slow and the sun went down while we were still on our bikes. It got really cold when the sun was away and musquitos were everywhere! We arrived in Saibadee Guesthouse at around 18:30. At 19:00 the barbecue started and with a group of 20 people we ate together. It was great! The owner is such a cool guy. We played game cards and some people did some magic tricks. The owners went to bed at 22:00 and after that we could even take drinks ourself behind the bar! We ended up in paying only 14 euro each the next day. Including dinner, sleep, beer and breakfast. I think they don't have their administration right. But the owner didn't seem to care😂 This place was so nice that we decided to not do the whole loop, but drive 1 day further and then come back here again.
After a sleep on a shitty bed we got up pretty early. I think a musquito flew into my eye last night, because it was very resd. On the second day we also started a bit late again because we were with such a big group. We visited some cold springs with bright clear water. It was a perfect refreshment since it was very hot today. We chilled there for awhile and wanted to get lunch (14:00). We couldn't find anything really and went to the guesthouse. After driving through beautifull scenery we arrived. This place was also great and with the whole group we had dinner and played some games. The owner was very friendly and I slept in a private room👌
On the 3th day the group splitted up, some people wanted to go to the famous Konglor Cave, but some people didn't want to visit caves anymore. Together with Erik and Perry we hiked to a waterfall which was okay. Then we headed back to the Saibadee Guesthouse. I had some small problems with the motorbike but at around 15:00 we arrived there. The owner was so happy to see us again and after one minute we were drinking a beer and playing cars games.. gosh I hate the bus😂
In the evening we had barbecue again and played cards. There was a nice campfire outside and I had some great fun with the guys. After skyping with my girlfriend I went to bed.
On the 4th and last day we left at around 9:00 and at 12:00 we arrived back in Thakhek. 3 out of 10 people fell, but luckely nothing really bad happened. Everyone wanted to go to Pakse (South-Laos) after. We were lucky and could rent 2 auto's with drivers for only €10 per person😀 5 hours in a brand new car is way better then 8 hours in a sleeping bus.
