Friday 16 December
Today I flew from Phuket to Koh Samui and got on the boat to Koh Tao. The boat trip was pretty rough and alot of people had to puke, or even got puked on by others 😂
It was funny, there was a Dutch guy talking to someone and I heard him say he was from Holland, Groningen. He looked so familiar to me and I thought he worked at a phone shop close to my town in Hollanf. When we got off the boat I saw him again and asked where he was from, and believe it or not but it was exactly the guy from the phone shop at my town in Holland 😂 such a coincidence!

As soon as I got on Koh Tao it started to rain.. I didn't book any hostel and wanted to look spontaneously for a place to stay. Unfortunately the full moon party in Koh Phangan was 2 days ago and everyone went to Koh Tao now. The result of this is that everything was fully booked and I had to stay in a hotel with a guy I met in the taxi.
My plan was to relax the next days and don't drink any alcohol on Koh Tao.

Saturday 17 dec
It has not stopped raining since yesterday and the streets are full of water. There's nothing to do really so I went to the gym twice today💪 I also switched to the Goodtime Backpackers hostel. I was in a dorm room with a beautiful ocean view.
Koh tao has a few vegan restaurants which serve lovely fresh organic foods.

The next day the weather was better, no rain anymore. I rented a 150cc cross motorbike and went to explore the island by myself. I haven't really met anyone yet and notice that it is hard to find people who have the same interest.. it's okay because i just want to rest a bit on Koh Tao. When i got a bit further on the island the roads were really bad and sandy but it was a lot of fun since I could go anywhere with this motorbike. I visited a few viewpoints and beaches.

Monday 19 december
Today I woke up at 7.00 to go diving. I wanted to give it a try because Koh Tao is well known for its amazing dive sites. We went to the best dive site 10km away. As soon as I got in the water i noticed that the visibility was very poor (5 meter). Due to the storm and weather the last days the water gets very dirty. The second dive was about the same. It was nice to be in the water again, but the circumstances were definitely not good for diving..
In the afternoon I got on the boat to Koh Phangan.
I also stayed in the goodtime backpackers hostel in Koh Phangan. It is a good location where they have dorm rooms in a bungalow on the beach. I shared my dorm with some Germans: Jule, Nathalie and Michie.

The next day I went for a jog and then rented a 150cc cross motorbike again. The sound that it makes is just insane😅 I love it! The weather was still not so good but I want to explore the island. I drove all the way up to the north to Haad Mae and had a lot of fun driving on the sand and muddy roads, the motorbike is perfect for this! In the afternoon I visited the Wang Sai Waterfall. It really started raining hard when I was there, as the only one. Gladly I had a rain coat with me, so I didn't really care about the rain.. being into the nature is always good ☺ When i came back from the waterfall I spoke to a local guy. I had a very inspiration conversation with him about life, people and nature. He was working at the waterfall and made it into a nice place for tourists. He builded a bridge which collapsed 2 weeks ago due to the bad weather. He said that we, the people always want to control everything. Like building stuff at a waterfall (nature), to make it "nicer" for the people with easier acces. But the bridge got destroyed by mother nature which costs so much and now it is destroyed it looks like a war zone. Why can't we just let the nature be nature? He reminded me of the monk in the meditation retreat, very happy and positive minded.

The next day I switched to Echo Backpackers Hostel because there's more going on there.
In the evening I went to this psytrance party which was really cool. I haven't seen this party's in Asia at all the last months, and Koh Phangan has a good party EVERY day now☺
I finally met some other cool guys from Germany who like the same kind of music.

The Paeng waterfall is the most famous waterfall in Koh Phangan and I spend an afternoon there hiking and climbing in the waterfall. You can see a short movie about it here;

The last days I didn't do to much. There was alot of partying going on and I'm just enjoying the time here before my girlfriend comes.
Normally I am really excited about Christmas time. I love spending the time with family and all eat together. This year I have to miss all that unfortunately. I don't have a Christmas feeling at all. It feels like it is July for 3 months already 😜

Saturday 24 dec
Today i wanted to go hiking but I noticed my rear brake wasn't working anymore. I went to the rental place because I also wanted to extend. When I came there he said he had to order parts from Bangkok and that it maybe haopened because i "jumped" with his bike. Wtf? I didnt do anything! I had to choose another bike he said. I looked at a bike and all of the sudden he started about some minor scratches on the plastic at the front brake. There was barely something on it and I don't even cakl them scratches. I don't know how it got there anyway. He said I had to pay, pay over 50 euro for it.. I could not believe it and got really pissed off. Because he had my passport there was not really much u could do. Normally I would have toke pictures of the motorbike, but it was in such good condition that I didn't.. so i was pretty f*cked. In the end I had to pay 1000 Baht (30 euro) and I was really dissappointed. They just rip you off...

Anyway, After 2 hours I was happy again and
really like Koh Phangan. It has its beaches, hiking, good restaurants, the best party's, beautifull nature and it's atmosphere. Because of this I invited my girlfriend to meet eachother here and celebrate new year on the island here, together☺ I'm very excited for her to come and I rented a bungalow on the beach for a few days. We are probably going to stay here untill the 2th of Januar ♡♡♡♡
