Dinsdag hadden we geen school maar een soort sportdag met basketbal en volleybal, hier noemen ze het intertribus. De leerlingen zijn verdeeld in twee teams, met deze teams heb je ook twee keer per week gym. Mijn team was GUAYCURU. Ik heb die dag eigenlijk helemaal niet gespeeld, ons team was te groot en bij volleybal is er communicatie nodig en dat ging niet, ik begreep niks van wat ze zeiden haha. Onze basketbalwedstrijd miste ik, ik stond met iemand te praten en had niet eens door dat mijn team buiten de wedstrijd had haha. Ondanks dat ik niet had gesport, was het wel een leuke 'schooldag', weer nieuwe mensen leren kennen. Vergeleken met gym in mijn school in Nederland, was dit wel redelijk goed niveau volleybal. De jongens konden super goed volleybalen dus het was eens soort van echte wedstrijd om naar te kijken, dus dat was wel leuk.

Die middag ben ik met mensen uit de andere klas gaan fietsen naar een plek net buiten het dorpje. Hier hadden de opa en oma van een meisje een boerderij. Ze hadden net een nieuw hondje, echt te schattig. Ze hadden van alles waaronder een pauw, geiten, vogels, lama's en zelfs een krokodil?! Het was super gezellig en het leverde sommige hilarische foto's op. Die avond had ik tennistraining en daarna gingen we met de mensen van tennis en met Gaby bij iemand thuis de voetbalwedstrijd Argentinië-Venezuela kijken. Er was echt super lekker eten, waaronder ook eindelijk weer eens frietjes. Helaas was de wedstrijd 1-1 geworden, terwijl ze die eigenlijk echt moesten winnen..... De jongens van tennis gingen keihard juichen bij de 1-1 en dachten daarna dat Gaby en ik echt dachten van wtf doen die nu. Maar ik ben wel wat gewend van bij mij thuis door onder andere Feyenoord en MVV aan te moedigen. In mijn huis hebben we alleen maar netflix en geen zenders op de tv, maar het heeft ook zo z'n voordelen, want hierdoor ga ik 's avonds vaker naar vrienden toe. Alleen vrijdag was de wedstrijd Nadal - Del Potro en het was wel zo fijn geweest als ik deze wedstrijd alleen had kunnen kijken. Iedereen voor een dag tegen mij haha, allemaal Del Potro fans natuurlijk. Maar gelukkig pakte het goed uit, ik heb toch gewoon met vrienden gekeken.

In het weekend van 9 en 10 september was het introductiekamp waar alle inbounds en outbounds waren. Dus alle andere exchange studenten die dit jaar naar het districht 4945 in Argentinië zijn gekomen en alle mensen die in januari aan hun exchange gaan beginnnen , waarvan bijna iedereen naar Europa gaat. Het kamp was echt helemaal fantastisch, het was super leuk om allemaal nieuwe mensen te leren kennen zowel inbounds als outbounds. Voor het kamp moesten we allemaal een presentatie maken, maar in het spaans. Ze hadden een random lijst gemaakt en natuurlijk moest ik weer als eerste haha. Zoals de meeste van jullie zich wel een beetje kunnen indenken was ik helemaal aan het stressen, maar achteraf was het goed want nu was ik er meteen van af. Tijdens het kamp heb ik super veel leuke mensen leren kennen, die toch een beetje je familie dit jaar worden, aangezien je allemaal hetzelfde avontuur beleeft. Tijdens het kamp hebben we info gekregen over de reizen, gekke spellen gespeeld en in de avond moest iedereen een typische dans van zijn land doen. Ook hebben we alle pins uitgewisseld met de exchange studenten onder elkaar, en ondanks dat ik oranje nog steeds een vreselijke kleur vind, vind ik het nu al een leuke herinnering voor altijd aan dit jaar. Ook kregen we een cadeautje, een trui van ons district en een beker voor maté met onze naam erop. Het kamp was ongeveer 3 uur rijden van mijn huis en het was afgelopen om 3 uur op zondag. Toen ik thuiskwam ben ik gelijk met mijn gastvader naar mijn gastopa en oma gegaan om de finale van de US open te kijken. En het was een goede afsluiting van het weekend want nadal won het toernooi.

Dit jaar kan ik 3 reizen gaan maken met alle exchange studenten, de eerste reis is eind oktober/begin november en die gaat naar het zuiden van Argentinië, naar het koude Patagonië. Tijdens het kamp kregen we ook al een presentatie over de mogelijke reis naar Brazilië. Eerst wist ik niet zo goed wat ik van Brazilië moest denken maar na die presentatie was ik helemaal om. Het zag er allemaal zo mooi uit en we gaan leren surfen, echt helemaal GE WEL DIG. De laatste reis gaat naar het noorden, waaronder ook de Iaguzu watervallen.

We didn’t had school on Tuesday but a sort of a sport day with basketball and volleyball, here in Argentina they call it ‘intertribus’ or something like that. The students were divided in two teams, with those teams you also have gym twice a week. My team was GUAYCURU. That day I actually didn’t play at all, our team was too big and for volleyball you need communication and that wasn’t possible, because I had no idea what they were saying. I didn’t feel comfortable so I preferred to just watch and speak with people along the side. Even that I didn’t sport I liked it. When I compare it to the Netherlands, the level was pretty good here. The boys could play very well volleyball, so it was like a real match to watch, so that was fun.

Later that day I went cycling with some people of the other class. We went to a place just outside the village. The grandparents of a friend had a farm there. They just had a new dog and he or she was so adorable. They had a lot of animals, a peacock, goats, birds, lama’s and even a little crocodile?! I had a great time and we made some hilarious photos. That night I had tennis practice and after that we went to watch the match Argentina vs. Venezuela with the people from the tennis lesson. They ordered some food and it was really good, finally fries haha. Unfortunately, the match was 1-1… while Argentina really had to win that match. The people from tennis were like shouting when Argentina scored and they probably thought that we would think WTF are they doing haha. But I’m used to it because the same happens in my house in the Netherlands when we watch football, most of the time Feyenoord and MVV. In my house, we don’t have like channels on the tv, only Netflix. But it has also some advantages, because now I go more often to friends in the evening. Only Friday was the match RAFAEL NADAL against del Potro and it would be nice to watch that match alone. Because the whole town was of course for Del Potro and I love Rafa and I’m terrible in handling stress when he is losing. Luckily for me it had a good ending and Rafa won the match and even the tournament.

In the weekend of 9 and 10 September we had the introduction camp where all the inbounds and outbounds were. So, all the exchange students who came to district 4945 this year and all the people who will start their exchange in January in another country, almost everyone is going to Europe. The camp was amazing, it was super to meet so many new people, both in- and outbounds. For the camp, we had to make a presentation, not in English but in Spanish. They made a random list and of course I was number one on the list. The people who know me, can imagine that I was stressing out completely, but afterwards it was good because I was done with it immediately. During the camp I met a lot of nice and friendly people, who are going to be a sort of my family this year, because are all experiencing the same adventure. During the camp we got information about the trips, played crazy games and had to perform a typical dance from our country. We also switched pins with everyone, so the blazer looks a little bit better now, but I still don’t like the orange. But it will be a nice memory of this year for the rest of my life. We also got a little present, a sweater from our district and cup for drinking maté with our name on it. The camp was 3 hours away from my house and it ended around 2/3 on Sunday. When I came home I went with my host father to my grandparents to watch the final of the US OPEN. Rafa won so it was a great ending of a perfect weekend.

This year I can make 3 trips with all the exchange students, the first trip starts halfway October and we are going to the south of Argentina, called Patagonia. During the camp we also got information about the trip to brazil. First, I didn’t really know what to think about Brazil, but after the presentation I was in love with that country. It all looked so beautiful and we are going to learn how to surf, I love it!!! The last trip is the North trip, were we going to see the Iguazu waterfalls as well.
