Vandaag had ik een halve rustdag gepland om bij te komen van de Stelvio. En dat is goed gelukt. Wel nog 1,25 alpen col op de route, maar ja je wil toch ergens komen. De hele Alpen col was de Umbrail pas. Dit is de hoogste pas van Zwitserland en ik zag er eigenlijk wel een beetje tegenop, omdat hij best steil is en ik weer de bagage mee heb. Maar als je gewoon rustig tempo blijft fietsen kom je eigenlijk overal boven. Umbrail is ook veel rustiger dan Stelvio dus dat was best wel een verademing 😛. Ook mooie uitzichten en het was niet zo warm. Boven op de Umbrail ga je de Stelvio pas af richting Bormio. Het was gelukkig niet zo koud als gister, maar bergaf was het nog steeds niet warm, dus rustig naar beneden 😉. In Bormio even boodschappen gedaan en alvast begonnen met een stukje Gavia. Die ga ik morgen verder afmaken maar eerst even relaxen in een heel ouderwets hotel. Ik kom net uit het zitbad, want een douche is er niet 😅. Vanavond nog een pizzatje en dan morgen er vol tegenaan, want dan moet ik weer meer dan 100km fietsen 😀. Ik kreeg ook nog bericht uit Nederland, Ajax 🐈 wordt goed verzorgd door opa en oma ❤️, dus dat is een zorg minder.

Today I had planned a half day of rest to recover from the Stelvio. And that worked out well. There are still 1.25 alpine passes on the route, but you still want to get somewhere. The entire Alpine pass was the Umbrail pass. This is the highest pass in Switzerland and I was actually a bit dreading it, because it is quite steep and I have luggage with me. But if you just keep cycling at a leisurely pace, you can actually get anywhere. Umbrail is also much quieter than Stelvio so that was quite a relief 😛. Beautiful views too and it wasn't that hot. At the top of the Umbrail you go down the Stelvio pass towards Bormio. Fortunately it was not as cold as yesterday, but it was still not warm downhill, so we went down quietly 😉. We did some shopping in Bormio and started with a piece of Gavia. I'm going to finish that tomorrow, but first relax in a very old-fashioned hotel. I just got out of the sitz bath, because there is no shower 😅. Another pizza tonight and then tomorrow I'll be all in, because then I have to cycle more than 100km again 😀. I also got a message from back home that the cat is being well taken care for ❤️.
