Vandaag was rustdag in Santiago en omdat alle musea dicht waren heb ik ook bijna niks gedaan. Gelukkig was de kathedraal wel open. Die wordt helemaal verbouwd dus er is niet veel te zien anders dan dat je ziet dat ze nog wel even bezig zullen zijn. Je kunt wel naar een soort zilveren kist in de kelder kijken. Ik ga er van uit dat hier de resten. Van de apostel in zitten dus hier heb ik het allemaal voor gedaan 😄. Gelukkig kun je in de kathedraal ook echte kaarsjes opsteken. Dus dat heb ik gedaan 1 voor mijzelf en 1 voor Lieke omdat dat Papa vorig jaar niet gelukt was. Verder waren er ook de gebruikelijke led waxinelichtje gokkasten dus daar heb ik verder al mijn klein geld in gestopt. Na de kathedraal ben ik een beetje door de stad gaan lopen en heb ik een deel van alle kerken bezocht, die hebben ze wel veel hier kerken 😉. Volgens mij gaat het wel goed met het waxinelichtjes gokemperium want de ene is nog mooier dan de ander, het is toch heel anders als de kerken die ik in Nederland gewend ben. S'middags ben ik even op bed gaan liggen want Joop zei het al "de tour win je in bed" en heb ik 2 uur geslapen. Nu heb ik beneden even een pilsje gehaald en ga ik zo de bagage nog een keer doorlopen voor de laatste 10 dagen. Morgen weer een fietsdag. Ik heb er zin in 😊.

Today was rest day and because all.museums were closed I did not do anything significant other then waling though town a few times. Luckily the cathedral was open although there are lot of construction works going on so there is not a lot to see. There was the opportunity to light real candles so I lit 2 one for myself and one for Lieke for which my father walked to Santiago last year at which time the cathedral was closed. If course there were also the fake candle gambling machines, here I spent all my other spare coins. I. The basement there was also a large silver box I presume this holds the holy relics of the apostle, at least I hope so. I put down extra cash in the candle machine here. After the cathedral I also visited numerous other churches. I believe Naples had the most churches per head of the population but I think Santiago will be a good second, there are a lot of churches and they all have impressive interiors, not like the ones I am used to in the Netherlands, so probably the candle lighting business is doing well. Besides this I did not do a lot other then taking a nap of 2 hours 😴. I just had a caña and I think I'll get another one. Tomorrow I will be cycling again only about a 1000km left to go 😉.
