It was nice not to have to get up early, so I relaxed and took my time. I wanted to see Lugano, but actually felt I had seen enough of it last night in my search for food, then eating it at the lake shore. So today I visited the (small) zoo a few villages over and then a huge mountain sports equipment store (which is like an enormous candy store for me, except I mostly already have everything), as I needed a gas canister. Thanks to the Ticino ticket I had free public transport in the whole Ticino region so I could just take trains without worrying about costs. I like this Ticino ticket invention, which you get when sleeping at one of the participating accommodations. The hostel I slept in last night had it, as does the campsite I am on now, so again free trains tomorrow.
After the candy store I went to Locarno, and I'm now on the only campsite there, which isn't very nice. It's way too big, way too organised and way too expensive. It's the kind of campsite where people take their children and then stay a few weeks, as there is lots of entertainment. And the hostel was cheaper. So I'm not staying here more than one night.
It is kind of weird to see palm trees all around, in Lugano, from the train, and here too. Speaking of vegetation change.
