We are getting used to the glamping experience, in some ways it’s like being at home. Getting the kids up early for example is proving to be just as challenging 😫

We got to the Monument Valley National Park in time for our 11 am tour. A 1,5 hour tour, 17 mile loop taking us passed the incredible rock formations called the Mittens, Three Sisters, John Ford Point, Totem Pole, Yei Bi Chei formations, Artist Point and North Window 🏜 We even spotted the outline of Donald Trumps face on one of the rocks. Our Navajo tour guide was very informative and a good singer 🎤as well. He told us a lot about the area which is 570 million years old, used as background for a lot of films and adverts and about the Navajo tribe and their customs.

After dusting ourselves off (the open jeep had a what you would call natural air conditioning) we went on our way to Moab. Of course we had to stop at Forrest Gump Point 🏞 for a picture out of the film we enjoy so much as a family.

It was 41 degrees when we got to the Moab Valley RV Campground. The kids thankfully made use of the pool while we stocked up on ice and arranged tomorrows activity. On our schedule we planned a hike in Arches but unfortunately Megans ankle injury is playing up and walking a long distance doesn’t seem like a good idea. How about rafting on the Colorado River? The votes were unanimous and with the credit card at hand it was quickly arranged.

Now it seemed Domino’s 🍕was also in for RV park delivery which saved us cooking and after showering the girls had found themselves a new beauty routine 🤩

We beginnen al aardig te wennen aan het glampen, soms is het net als thuis. Zo is het ook hier een uitdaging om de kinderen op tijd hun bed uit te krijgen 😫

We waren op tijd in het Monument Valley National Park voor onze Tour van 11 uur. Een lus van 1,5 uur en 27 kilometer die ons langs de ongelooflijke rotsformaties bracht genaamd the Mittens, Three Sisters, John Ford Point, Totem Pole, Yei Bi Chei formations, Artist Point en North Window 🏜 We zagen zelfs het gezichtsprofiel van Donald Trump. Onze Navajo gids wist ons veel te vertellen over het enorme gebied wat 570 miljoen jaar geleden is ontstaan, wat voor heel veel films en advertenties als achtergrond is gebruikt en over de Navajo indianen en hun gebruiken. Ook kon hij goed zingen 🎤

Nadat we het zand van onszelf hadden afgeklopt (de open jeep had zo z’n eigen airco) gingen we onderweg naar Moab. Natuurlijk moesten we echt even stoppen voor een foto van Forrest Gump Point🏞, de film die we als gezin erg leuk vinden.

Het was 41 graden toen we bij het Moab Valley RV Campground aankwamen. De kinderen maakten dankbaar gebruik van het zwembad en wij gingen de ijskast aanvullen en de activiteit van morgen regelen. Op ons schema hadden we een hike door het mooie Arches staan maar omdat Megans enkelblessure weer opspeelt leek het maken van een fikse wandeling niet zo’n strak plan. Of zullen we gaan raften op de Colorado Rivier? Er werd unaniem voor gestemd en met de credit card in de hand was de boeking voor morgen snel geregeld.

Nu bleek domino’s 🍕ook nog op de camping te bezorgen dus koken was niet nodig en de dames hadden na het douchen nog een nieuw schoonheidsritueel ontdekt🤩
