Independence Day weekend

Verenigde Staten, Custer, South Dakota

After my awesome time in Deadwood, I met up with part of the family I stayed with in Denver.
They were going to celebrate the 4th of July in Custer, South Dakota so I decided to join them.

As I hadn't seen any bison in South Dakota yet, the family took me to Custer state park. Driving around the park we saw some deer and other small animals but it was difficult to spot any bison (we managed to find one, but it looked more like a brown spot than a bison :p).

During this weekend, I made my first smore :D Delicious American experience.

On Independence Day, we went to a garage sale, a thrift shop and a gun shop (a bit scary to see all those guns lying around). There was also a small parade in the main street of Custer.
For lunch I had a buffalo burger, which was yummie. It tastes almost the same as beef.

In the evening the family had some friends over at the house. We had some good food and later on there was some beautiful fireworks, which we watched from the roof.

It was interesting and a lot of fun to experience a typical 4th of July weekend with an American family.
