Circus Valdi - La Souterraine
What to expect when you visit the worlds largest miniature circus? Circus Valdi is more than just a small mechanic circus. It tells us about a man who had a passion for technique and the circus, and who brought it all together in his creation of Circus Valdi. The animals and the members of the circus all move individually and are powered by re-used motors of small office equipment such as fax machines.The Bed and Breakfast Domaine de la Jarrige of Yolande and Marc Muller is a beautiful example of countryside charm without the loss of comfort. Yolande and Marc bought a few run-down farmers cottages a few years ago and made it into a brocante paradise.
Hotel Chateau Sallandrouze in Aubusson (4 stars) offers excellent, high quality rooms decorated in the style of the building. The South African staff fell in love with the castle and decided to buy it and completely renovate it to fit the wishes of their international clients. Our lunch in the restaurant of the Chateau was equally excellent.
Our last visit of this trip brought us to the Tapestry Museum and 'Maison du tapissier' in Aubusson. Aubusson is world renowned for its hand made tapestries. The 'Maison du Tapissier' offers an insight view in the production proces of tapestries.
